Axe is obviously talking to men who are very visual creatures (aren't we all?) The issue is that the woman portrayed in the ad have seemingly lost all sense of control and are being pulled by some powerfully magnetic force to locations unknown in order to animalistically release some primal urge...on a nerd with an aerosol can. Without getting into the fact that no one really looks like this, raise your hand if you want to be one of these mindless broads (no one? we thought so).
Yes talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does. Save her from the feeling that she will never add up to those computer enhanced models from the Axe commercial. In fact we think we say a couple of them shaking their bootys in the Dove commercial. We also have a hunch that this is entirely possible and probably saved someone some money due to the fact that both Axe and Dove are owned by the same company, Unilever!
Unilever also owns Ben and Jerry's and Slimfast. Upon visiting the Unilever site you will find they are concerned about health, sustainability, and many other selfless missions but the fact of the matter is they are still a huge corporation ultimately set out to make money. Is it in our best interest as consumers for one company to own and control so much? Do they really care in there somewhere or do they market to us individually to divide, conquer, and profit.
Decide for yourself. After all our ultimate mission is to spark strong individuals not xerox ideas. Just make sure you comment and share with us!
